SOLDIER STORIES: The Sal Giunta Story
On 16 NOV 2010, Staff Sergeant Sal Giunta of the 173rd Airborne became the first living Medal of Honor recipient since the Vietnam War. This 14-minute video tells the story of his actions in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley during the deployment chronicled in the movie “Restrepo.” (Click here for the embedded video of the full movie.)
This is a powerful account from now SSG Giunta on what happened on 16 NOV 2010.
Watch until the end, very powerful.
Sometimes, not everything can be fixed. But, if you do things a little differently something that is broken can still be used

You would not understand. This is not how I am.
I miss you, ‘Resrie’ ♥
Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you, and how much I wish we could find way to bring you back to us. But I know you’re watching down over myself and your beautiful daughters; they are all so much like you. It’s nice to be around them because hearing them laugh the same little “hehehe” as they scrunch up their noses the way you did, makes it sound like you’re hear with us too.
I hope I get another visit in my dreams from you soon; those always make my heart feel like it’s not so heavy.
Goodnight, and I hope to see you real soon ♥
NO MATTER HOW MANY NOTES THIS GETS…
I will personally write each and every one of you that reblogs this a paragraph in your ask about what I think you are like in “real life” based on your blog. It will be almost that I am writing you your own book about yourself, but for just a paragraph. I will be on anon so that you wont know that its me.
Starting on February 6, 2013.
Just started doing these, still open to reblog. DOING THEM ALL!
